i spent most of the day yesterday sketching out the drawing for the next painting. typically i use a portrait format with my paintings (if not square) but this time i wanted to do a landscape format painting. the drawing i wanted to use needed to be adapted to the horizontal format. (as well as a correction on the original) i was surprised to see how rusty i was at drawing these… but it’s like riding a bike i guess.
the top-left is the original drawing, the top-right is the landscape adaption. the bottom two are steps getting there. (took me a few)

i finished this painting the other day and have been awaiting a day when it is overcast outside, but not too dark, so i can take it out and get some good pics of it. so for now you have to do with this.

it keeps asking for more… it’s so demanding. today i’ll be working on white and yellow glazes.
the detail is becoming incredible… it’s starting to look like one of my paintings.
38″ x 48″ oil on canvas.
